Imagine a still day at the beach, surrounded by a natural palette of hazy pales, with no one else in the picture and that music you're listening to as you soak it all in, well, that's Anneka...

Sincere, captivating and irresistibly melodic…Anneka Thwaites is an emerging Christchurch artist who has been making an impression since the release of her debut album In The Pink. Her music is an eclectic mix that draws on elements of singer songwriter, folk, country and acoustic rock, paired with intimate vocals and reflective lyrics.
Anneka Thwaites
Anneka grew up in Blenheim and left school to become a cabinetmaker, running her own woodworking business while playing and writing music on the side. It wasn't until she was 21 that she started to sing and perform, and in 2006, decided to move south to study music at the Christchurch Jazz School. Four and a half years, and one album later, Anneka has never really left! The last couple of years have been spent in a writing phase, and she now has enough material for a new album, which she is arranging at the moment ready for recording in the near future.

Three of Anneka's songs have just been selected to appear in the feature film ‘Just Like You’, which is currently in production in Australia. On the 12th of August she will appear as a guest artist on TV1s Good Morning show.

Anneka’s philosophy is simple, "Music has this amazing ability to touch people, inspire them and make them happy - it's a gift to pass on to others!"

"‘In The Pink’ is a blend of pop and folk, with a soothing edge. Anneka weaves stories with guitar and vocals, reminiscent of Joni Mitchell and other folk songstresses, chronicling her life up until now." NZ Musician October/November, 2008. Interview by Annie Kean.
