Dave Hart

dave_image002 (8K) Dave's performance lineage goes back quite some time. His grandfather was the director of the Governor of Bengal's orchestra, his mother danced and taught ballet and he has a brother with considerable acting experience. Dave's father was known to have dabbled in mandolin accompaniments and sang a number of English north country songs.

As a youngster, Dave endured tuition as a boy soprano and two years of piano instruction, discovering folk music in his late teens.

Mouth harp, melodeon and tea chest bass were his first folkie instruments, followed by Appalachian autoharp and piano accordion. His performances have been strongly influenced by The Carter Family, traditional English song and dance music, and by such luminaries as Martin Carthy and John Kirkpatrick.

Dave has always been described as an excellent 'All-rounder' and his voice is blessed with clarity and a considerable vocal range.

It has been too long since this seasoned entertainer has performed his own concert at the club. Dave's performance will be, as always, varied and entertaining and his songs will carry you in many directions.

Dave expects to be joined by the talented Sue Galvin for some numbers.
