Who sits on this Front Porch Swing?

How about the double cushions of the legendary Coalrangers on bass and keys...John Sanchez Lloyd and Geoff Farmar both of whom can bluesify or reggae up just about anything... with their not inconsiderable vocal talents they have roved the Canterbury ranges for many a year adding their distinctive talents to our musical tapestry.


Now add to the swing the incomparable strings genius of Jon Maxim Hooker whose guitar mastery is without doubt, as his penchant for all the nuances of the blues John and Geoff first played together in The Cowboys – a popular country-rock band of the early eighties. They remained playing together through a number of groups before finally forming The Coalrangers.

Denny and Jon bring a wealth of experience having played together for many years as a duo and as half of the award winning Celtic band Rua. Their musical journey thus far has taken them on numerous tours of heartland New Zealand as well as guesting at many Festivals around the country. Their collaboration with John and Geoff of the Coalrangers adds to their repertoire another dimension of gospel, rhythm and blues and cowboy jazz.
