Christchurch Folk Music Club

Welcome to the Christchurch Folk Music Club.

Come and join us at The Dux de Lux, at corner of Hereford and Montreal Street (Map) on Sunday evenings. Doors are open from 7.15pm on, with time for a catchup before the performances begin promptly at 8 pm. The club is a "listening club", which means that talking is discouraged while the performers are on, but is encouraged before the act, during the break and after the show. Meals are available, and there is a good selection of coffees. If you are a member of the club, present your membership card and you will receive a discount on all purchases at Bailies.

Visitors are welcome, and we welcome folk members visiting from other clubs. We have reduced rates for students with ID cards. If you enjoy coming along, we encourage membership, which entitles you to reduced door charges and the Hear-Ye, a newsletter mailed out regularly with club goings-on, email reminders, and discounts at both The Dux and Music Works.

The club is run by a committee of volunteer members. They are all pretty approachable, so speak to a committee member if you have any questions or concerns, or if you think you might be interested in getting more involved. Even small jobs like setting out or putting away the chairs at the end of the night are important, and are a good way to become a part of the team that keeps the club running.
