As you may know, Kath Tait was unable to tour NZ this year because of a serious illness. She was not able to get a refund on her airfare so she lost quite a lot of money, as well as feeling really unwell. Fortunately Kath is now recovering and expects to be in New Zealand from late January to mid March 2008.

Kath has completed her latest CD "Leaky Umbrellas." Flying Piglets is selling the CD for $25 of which 100% will go to Kath.

The nine-track CD is a fascinating mixture of Kath's well known quirky style in songs such as "The Right Time of Year" (to leave your husband..) and "The Minimalist and the Shopaholic". There are also some powerfully serious numbers including the wistful "Leaky Umbrellas" and a great song about refugees, "Naked Earth". For me the pick of the CD is the marvellously evocative "Childless Mother". All the songs bear the hallmark of Kath's brilliance with words and her lateral approach to songwriting. Definitely a good buy!
