Scottish Gaelic

Lessons in Language and Song
This is to those interested in Scottish Gaelic: either to learn or who may know others who wish to learn.

I wish to start lessons after Easter 2010. There are two important immediate tasks.

Provisionally I have earmarked Thursdays with the following possible times:

9.30 – 11.30am, During school hours, Senior citizens free buses
12.30 – 2.30 pm, During school hours, Senior citizens free buses
3.30 – 5.30 pm, After school
7.30 – 9.30pm. Evening

If there are enough people we could have two different time slots. Even more.

Minimum number for any class is 4, Maximum 8. Interaction is important.

Some of these times might be suitable on other days. If so it is worth mentioning that in your response.

Whenever sufficient keen people can be mustered together could be an agreed time.

Lessons will be held in the separate wee hall at St Giles, Papanui. Corner of Papanui Road and Frank Street

Lessons include a video of 25 minutes. Working through the vocabulary and pronunciation it teaches. Simple exercises using the words. Simple songs which are fun and useful for memorising words.

Costs: $10 for a handbook for all the lessons. Weekly attendance $2 which will go direct to St Giles for light and heating. The videotapes are copyright from Scotland and I am committed not to use them in a commercial manner. My payment is the fun and satisfaction.
